Shelter: Video

We want our churches to be places of safety, places of welcome where people feel like they can be themselves. Places where they will be embraced just as they are, where they will be encouraged to become the person that they’re meant to be.

Heartwarming message in all times, not just during these times

Wow. I am sure you prepared this series far before the mandated sheltering for Corona virus. The Holy Spirit clued you all in and shared very important understanding of Sheltering: finding refuge in the shadow of the Almighty!

    Safety

When I was a child and was sad or insecure
All I wanted was to crawl into my father’s lap
    And have him hug me.
That was when I felt the safest.

    When I injured myself
I went to my mother to
“kiss it and make it better”
But I went my father to dry my tears.

    When I first left home
    I had some rough years
Not having my father’s lap to bring me security
And not feeling “at home” anywhere.

In time I re-found that feeling of safety
    In the church,
    In the companionship of others
    In the love of God.

Now when I am feeling sad or insecure
I imagine myself in My Father’s lap
    Being hugged by Abba.
Then I begin to feel safe again.

    Receive so you can give
Thank you for the lovely meditation on shelter and life Abraham-acknowledging the call to go out, knowing that God goes with

Images from the Godly Play stories will continuously reappear as the exploration continues
