I feel the tension in this reflection. There is being appropriately nomadic (to use Brother Jeffery’s words) and pressing on with the journey. There is also reaching for the brass ring, always reaching for more and never feeling one has done or is enough. I’ve pondered the balance between those two. In recent years I’ve worked on “just” being, but I wonder if that is actually “settling too much” (per Jeffery again).
Candidly, my own settling concerns me more than my wandering. Such comfort knowing God is present to all of it.
Shelter has a whole different meaning with “shelter-in-place,” especially for those of us who live alone. In fact this whole series has an ironic overlay. We were thinking very differently when the daily themes and exercises were being planned.
